CANKER SORES (MOUTH SORES)
What are they?
-small, painful ulcers on the inside of the mouth
-can appear on the tongue, lips and throat
-Canker sores are NOT cold sores
Causes
-autoimmune disorders
-injury to the mouth
-hormones
-stress
-spicy or acidic foods
-vitamin deficiency 
Symptoms
-tingly sensation prior to appearing
-crater-like ulcers can be white, grey or yellow
-red border
-generally painful
-may have trouble eating, speaking or swallowing
Treatment
-most canker sores will heal on their own
You can try baking soda to speed up healing
-mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 1 /2 cup warm water-rinse
Baking soda will kill bacteria in your mouth
Most canker sores may hurt for 7-10 days.
Most will heal completely in 1-3 weeks.
 
If you have a canker sore that will not heal, or you are concerned about a mouth sore.
