DEXTERITY ISSUES & ORAL HEALTH Dexterity(the ability to perform a difficult action quickly and skillfully with the hands) If you are dealing with dexterity issues or are caring for someone with dexterity issues you know how difficult it can be to maintain proper oral hygiene. Here are some tips to make proper oral hygiene more achievable: TEETH BRUSHING *an electric toothbrush -easier to hold (larger handles) -the toothbrush does the work for you (especially for back teeth) -they keep you from brushing too hard -most have timers (ensures you are brushing for 2 mins) -they do a more thorough job of reducing plaque Remember, there is a difference between battery-operated toothbrushes and electric.
